IB Visual Arts Exhibition – Private View:
Wednesday, 30 March 2011
The hard work of three talented Worth students was celebrated at the Private Viewing of the IB Visual Arts Exhibition this week. Pupils, teachers, support staff and the monastic community, all came to admire the creativity of students Catherine Bailey, Andreas Tombazis and Katharina Wenzel.
IB Visual Arts:
The IB Visual Arts course encourages the development of skills and techniques of investigation both visually and through written evaluation, relating art to its cultural and historical contexts. The students use gallery visits over the two year course to inspire and develop their own work. Each pupil has been encouraged to take their own creative journey and to use their previous work to inform the next. Life drawing is taught throughout the course to ensure they develop their observation and drawing skills, consolidating their understanding and exploration of the human form. Pupils embrace the freedom they are given to develop their own ideas, with the full support of the teaching staff.
